- Staff and personnel management: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise nursing staff, conduct performance evaluations, and manage disciplinary actions.
- Patient care: Oversee and ensure high standards of patient care, implement protocols, and address patient complaints and issues.
- Administration and planning: Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures, manage the nursing department's budget and resources, and oversee day-to-day operations.
- Quality and compliance: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, healthcare regulations, and best practices. This includes conducting audits and maintaining quality standards.
- Liaison and communication: Act as a liaison between the nursing department, other hospital departments, and external organizations.
- Resource and inventory management: Manage the procurement and distribution of nursing supplies and materials and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Professional development: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by providing training opportunities and encouraging professional development for the nursing staff.
