- Ensuring high standards of patient care are met
- Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures
- Monitoring patient care outcomes and conducting audits
- Handling patient complaints and concerns
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations
Administrative and financial duties
- Managing the nursing department's budget and resources efficiently
- Maintaining accurate patient care records and documentation
- Planning and organizing nursing services to meet the facility's goals
- Negotiating with vendors for necessary supplies and services
- Representing the nursing department on hospital committees and to senior leadership
