Job Summary: The Broker is responsible for managing and coordinating the activity of contracted carriers and assigned resources. This position ensures customers receive the highest level of service while operating efficiently in accordance with broker requirements
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee carrier assignments and match available freight with suitable carriers
Maintains strong carrier relationships
Assist carriers with resolving any issues they may encounter
Capture all load information and maintain TMW in real time
Track and manage shipments from pickup to delivery, handling any issues that arise
Ensure customer destination assignments are met and communicate any variance
Document carrier service failures
Review carrier performance including miles and customer service late/missed loads
Audit TMW to ensure loads are properly updated and maintained
Audit all loads and communicate deviations, internally and externally.
Take additional freight based on resource needs.
Shift resources to projects, lanes and or balancing efforts.
Track and record extra charges associated with loads/lanes, detention, washes, and out-of-route miles, etc.
Coordinate loads/lanes with various operating groups and reports issues to management
Communicates load ETA with management or customers.
Report producer and customer inquiries or issues to Customer Relations.
Communicate carrier inquiries or issues promptly to Carrier Relations.
Help resolve billing and carrier pay questions as needed.
Maintain necessary records for the business operations.
Monitor and remain informed about industry trends, fuel prices, and market conditions to support operational efficiency
Stay updated with FMCSA regulations and all related transportation laws and company policies.
Answer the phone in a professional manner

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Proficient in basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Google Workspace
Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external staff
Manage multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Possess strong interpersonal skills to support work as a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA regulations, or the transportation industry
Experience in logistics, mathematics, and analytical thinking skills
Experience working in a dispatch/logistics environment

Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a commercial motor vehicle terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
