As the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining production and shipping schedules, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products to customers within budget constraints for labor hours, machine hours, and material costs.
  • Managing production operations to optimize equipment and employee resources, maintaining high productivity levels, and exceeding product quality requirements.
  • Ensuring that process and equipment capabilities meet or surpass company and industry standards and requirements. Implementing operations-related initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures regarding production, materials, and equipment-related activities. Ensuring accurate reporting of labor hours, machine hours, material usage, and activities within the current operations management and control systems.
  • Implementing and achieving operations and function-related budgeting goals and objectives. Establishing benchmarks for monthly, quarterly, and annual case production and shipments, material receipts, production work-in-process, and inventory levels within the Plant Level of Operations.
  • Recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, and evaluating all operations employees in accordance with company human relations policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in building and managing a team-based production environment. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships between production, materials, and equipment maintenance departments.
  • Acting as an interface between employees in your department, providing support for company policies, goals, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Ensuring that all products meet quality requirements according to company policy, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Handling and prioritizing problems effectively, finding timely resolutions.
  • Meeting and exceeding shipment deadlines, budget objectives, and profitability targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Achieving production metrics and shipment objectives, monitoring labor hours per case, machine time per case, quality, and cost per case. Ensuring labor and machine efficiency within company guidelines and managing periodic maintenance, repair, rework hours, and waste.
  • Ensuring purchasing, production support, shipping, and receiving performance metrics and objectives are achieved or surpassed quarterly and annually. Ensuring on-time delivery of quality products to customers at the budgeted cost per case.
  • Aseptic beverage manufacturing experience is a plus.

Candidate Requirements:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Five to ten years of relevant industrial and manufacturing experience.
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Business Management, industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent experience. Additional knowledge in manufacturing engineering and operations management is a plus.
  • Relevant and up-to-date technical knowledge concerning products, materials, and equipment used in the food processing industry.
  • Proficiency in understanding and managing food processing activities and production lines. Ability to provide expertise and technical support to all plant employees, making informed decisions related to equipment, production, and materials.
  • Ability to maintain production planning and scheduling, shop loading, expediting and dispatching, purchasing, shipping and receiving, and inventory control functions using existing manufacturing systems.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills to lead teams in producing quality products within schedule and budget constraints. Participation and facilitation of operations-related team meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability
