Operations Trainer - Corporate Office


Position Summary

The Operations Trainer will develop and implement training materials focused on operations and sales related topics and skills. This includes analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training materials, programs, and other training opportunities. This role will be crucial in ensuring that team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties effectively and contribute to the company’s overall success and an employer of choice. This position is ideal for a trainer with experience from a local large family-owned auto group, and sales training experience is strongly preferred, as is general automotive industry knowledge.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and updates training materials, including courses, manuals, guides, and presentations, ensuring consistency with adult learning principles.
  • Collaborates with operations leadership to define training content objectives and ensure training alignment with strategic organizational and operational goals
  • Translate complex policies, procedures, and system processes into simple, understandable learning materials.
  • Organize, plan, and facilitate individual and group training sessions, ensuring clarity of content and effective learner knowledge transfer.
  • Collects, organizes, and transforms information from various sources, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), job or task observations, and existing materials to develop robust training content.
  • Document training activities in the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide feedback to management, including reporting from the LMS.
  • Creates effective and engaging learning content and experiences by analyzing learner needs and identifying knowledge gaps.
  • Develops user-friendly training materials designed for independent, self-guided facilitation by other trainers.
  • Uses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication.

  • Strong understanding of operational processes and workflows.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate employees of various backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Experience in developing and delivering both in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Awareness of traditional and modern training methods and techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other training software/tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field plus two years’ experience in training, content creation, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous sales training experience required; automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions that affects your ability to operate company owned vehicle(s) and ability to maintain a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The physical demands of the job include the use of hands and fingers, reaching, bending, sitting, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and driving.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicle.

Working Conditions

  • This role is predominantly sedentary in an office environment.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Travel Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to travel within or outside the area. Travel for this position is infrequent.
