Oracle Apps DBA (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Apps DBA (L2+) with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business Suite administration. The ideal candidate will manage, support, and maintain on-premises Oracle environments while contributing to basic Oracle Cloud (OCI) operations. This role focuses on ongoing administration, patching, cloning, routine performance tuning, and supporting upgrades—not full architectural ownership or large-scale transformations.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure stability, performance, and security.
• Experience with RAC, ASM, and Data Guard at an operational level.
• Perform database patching, minor upgrades, and routine performance tuning.
• Develop Shell/SQL/PLSQL scripts for monitoring, reporting, and automation.
• Support backup and recovery using RMAN.
• Assist in DR testing and routine database health checks.

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Administration

• Support EBS environments (R12.1.3 & R12.2) including patching and cloning.
• Perform EBS sysadmin tasks: user creation, responsibilities, request groups, printer setup, and forms configuration.
• Assist in EBS upgrades (not as primary architect).
• Deploy code and configuration changes into non-prod and prod environments.
• Monitor EBS logs, troubleshoot workflow and concurrent manager issues.

High Availability (HA)

• Monitor and maintain Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments to ensure high availability and performance.
• Perform daily RAC operations, including instance management and troubleshooting cluster issues.
• Support Data Guard sync, redo transport, apply processes, and assist with switchover/failover activities.
• Ensure HA components are aligned with RMAN backup and DR strategies, including backup validation.
• Participate in DR drills and support failover readiness across standby environments.
• Perform patching and maintenance in RAC and Data Guard setups, including rolling patching.
• Support HA for multi-node EBS environments, including workflow and concurrent manager stability.
• Assist with RAC and DG performance tuning and resource utilization optimization.
• Maintain concise documentation for HA procedures, monitoring, and DR processes.

Performance & Troubleshooting

• Monitor database and application performance using OEM and scripts.
• Resolve locking issues, space management alerts, concurrent requests and workflow failures.

Security & Compliance

• Manage DB users, roles, grants, and password policies.
• Assist with database audits and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Oracle OCP,OCI certification preferred but not mandatory.
• 8 to 10 years of relevant Oracle Apps DBA experience.
• Compute creation, VCN basics, IAM policies, Object Storage.
• DB provisioning and DR configuration on OCI.
• Participate in DR and backup tasks carried out on OCI.

Value-Added Skills (Optional)

• Exposure to Goldengate, WebLogic, OBIEE, Hyperion, SOA, SSO, MySQL/PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of multi-node EBS setups.
• Experience supporting Agile/Scrum environments
