Position Summary:
We are seeking a board-certified Pain Management Physician (Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) to provide expert clinical care for patients suffering from acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions. The physician will be responsible for developing and implementing multimodal, interdisciplinary treatment plans, using a combination of therapeutic injections, advanced interventional procedures, medication management, and referrals for physical therapy or behavioral health support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Perform comprehensive physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic evaluations to determine the source and nature of pain (e.g., musculoskeletal, neuropathic, oncologic pain).
- Interventional Procedures: Perform a wide range of procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), spinal cord stimulation (SCS) trials/implants, and peripheral nerve blocks.
- Medication Management: Prescribe and manage pain medications, including opioids, non-opioids, and adjunctive therapies, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations for controlled substances.
- Referral Coordination: Coordinate patient care with primary care physicians, physical therapists, neurologists, psychiatrists, and other specialists as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Education/Certification: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with Board Certification in Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Fellowship: Completion of an accredited Pain Management Fellowship program (required).
- Licensure: Valid and unrestricted Medical License to practice in the relevant jurisdiction (required). DEA registration (required).
- Skills: Demonstrated technical proficiency in performing a wide array of fluoroscopy and/or ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures. Excellent communication, empathy, and collaborative skills for working with a complex patient population and interdisciplinary team.
