Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations within a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food industry standards, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety and quality, controlling inventory, and supporting overall restaurant management to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Experience in both casual and fine dining settings, along with proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS, is highly desirable. The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of hospitality, supervising team members, and contributing to the growth of our establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in daily restaurant operations, including managing staff schedules, shift management, and ensuring operational efficiency
  • Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality standards and food safety compliance
  • Supervise kitchen and front-of-house teams, providing training & development to enhance performance
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
  • Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
  • Support staff hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize profitability
  • Coordinate catering, banquet events, or special functions as needed
  • Uphold hospitality standards across all areas of operation including bar service if applicable

Requirements

  • Proven management experience within the food industry; assistant manager experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, food safety protocols, and kitchen management
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams in fast-paced environments
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
  • Experience in both casual dining and fine dining settings; catering or banquet experience is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively
  • Ability to train staff on food handling, safety procedures, and service standards
  • Strong organizational skills including inventory control and shift management
  • Hospitality management background with experience in restaurant or hotel settings preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, perform cost analysis, and support business growth
  • Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and foster a positive work environment
