Summary

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team at Steeler. The HR Assistant with focus on payroll and benefits will play a key role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, and that benefits are managed efficiently. This role requires discretion, accuracy, and a proactive approach to supporting our HR Manager with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR databases
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and documentation
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in payroll, benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems and HR software (Paycom, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices is a plus
