Job description
Solo attorney with 20 years experience in private practice in Arizona is adding a part-time estate planning and probate paralegal to office in old town Scottsdale. Practice is limited to estate planning, estate administration (including informal probate) and trust administration. Attorney will supervise in the office by providing instructions and guidelines for projects and reviewing work product.
Requirements: At least 5 years of recent Arizona estate planning/probate law firm experience, attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality of client names, working competency drafting documents and red-line drafts using firm templates and Microsoft Word and ability to produce an accurate work product using firm's Mac computers in a timely manner. Willingness to double-check all work for accuracy.
Preference: 2-year or 4-year college degree
Responsibilities: Set up and organize client estate planning files, using attorney notes prepare first drafts of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Deeds, revise documents with attorney mark-ups, assist attorney with drafting Trusts, finalize, print and add signing flags to estate plan documents for client Will signings at the office, serve as a Witness, photocopy, scan and prepare signed documents for shipping, take shipments to nearby FedEx store, handle mailings at Post Office, record Deeds and scan and e-mail signed documents to clients.
Prepare and arrange for filing of documents to open Informal Probates, prepare Small Estate Affidavits, help clients form and update Arizona LLCs. Handle e-filing documents with the Probate Court where available.
Create and update detailed monthly billing entries in Word for each client listing date work performed, description of service provided and time spent.

Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week in office, 1 or 2 days per week. Preferred availability is Tuesdays and Thursdays. Covered parking spot.
Compensation: W-2, starting between $40 to $60/hour, depending on estate planning/probate law firm experience.
