Treyz Law Group is a boutique intellectual property law firm seeking talented candidates for a paralegal position in Arizona or California.

This is a full-time remote position that requires attendance during regular business hours, so ideal candidates are self-motivated and able to work independently. Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities include helping to manage the firm’s portfolio of patent matters. This includes organizing weekly reports, preparing and reviewing documents for submission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and aiding in monthly billing procedures.

No prior legal or intellectual property experience is necessary, although experience working in a professional setting or office environment is a plus. We will provide all necessary training.

We are a small firm with a collegial culture that values quality work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our practice is primarily focused on domestic and international patent prosecution and portfolio management services for major businesses in the technology sector. No technical background or expertise is needed.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Docketing deadlines
  • Running reports of deadlines to monitor
  • Assisting in the monthly billing process
  • Frequently communicating with the firm’s paralegal, patent agent, and attorney teams
  • Drafting patent correspondence such as Information Disclosure Statements, Preliminary Amendments, Certificates of Correction, and other Patent Office documents and/or Petitions
  • Proofreading issued patents for accuracy
  • Reviewing and processing incoming mail
  • Communicating with clients’ administrative teams
  • Interfacing with foreign counsel regarding foreign patent filings
  • Providing administrative support to attorneys and patent agents as necessary

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Compensation:

  • Starting salary of $60,000-90,000+, depending on experience
  • Potential overtime available
  • Competitive benefits package
