Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR and Payroll Generalist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This individual will manage all HR and payroll functions, working closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing on a biweekly basis. This position requires significant expertise in California labor laws since we employ staff in Arizona, California as well as a few other states with isolated remote employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer biweekly payroll, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide payroll reports and related HR data for multiple states, including Arizona and California.
- Stay updated on California labor laws, wage regulations, and benefits compliance.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health, retirement, and leave administration.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Prepare and deliver HR and payroll-related reports to the CEO and accounting department.
- Oversee onboarding activities; design tools and resources to improve employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain HR resources, including the Employee Handbook.
- Provide consultation on performance management, employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution; prepare documentation and support sensitive personnel actions.

- This position will be in-person in the Phoenix office everyday
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Strong understanding of Arizona and California employment regulations.
- Will require some knowledge to set up some remote employees in other states.
- Proficient in payroll systems and analytical tools for report generation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms like Paycom is a plus.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
