Job Summary:
We are seeking a board-certified Endocrinologist or Obesity Medicine Physician to provide medical leadership in clinical trials and research studies targeting metabolic and endocrine disorders. The physician will be responsible for overseeing studies related to diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, metabolic syndrome, PCOS, and other hormone-related conditions. This role is ideal for a physician passionate about advancing treatment options in the growing field of metabolic health and endocrine research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical oversight for clinical trials focused on obesity, diabetes, and endocrine/metabolic diseases.
- Evaluate and screen study participants with conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, adrenal disorders, and obesity-related comorbidities.
- Monitor patient safety and assess treatment responses during the study period, ensuring compliance with protocols and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with clinical research coordinators, sponsors, and regulatory authorities to maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Interpret trial data and assist in the preparation of study reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of clinical assessments, adverse events, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Stay current with emerging therapies and scientific literature related to endocrinology and obesity medicine.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for complex metabolic and hormonal disorders in the research setting.
- Support IRB submissions, protocol development, and regulatory filings.
- Educate research participants about their conditions, study requirements, and investigational treatments.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism or Obesity Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in CALIFORNIA..
- Strong interest in clinical research and evidence-based management of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
- Excellent diagnostic and interpersonal communication skills.
- Familiarity with EMRs and clinical documentation standards.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical trials.
- Clinical research certification (e.g., ACRP, SOCRA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with IRB processes, FDA regulatory requirements, and ICH-GCP guidelines.
- Experience with investigational therapies targeting obesity, diabetes, or other endocrine conditions.
Skills:
- Expertise in diagnosing and managing endocrine and metabolic conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, PCOS, and obesity.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, safety monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex clinical and research concepts clearly to patients and staff.
- Analytical thinking and sound clinical judgment in a research-driven environment.
- Proficiency with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial software is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: $100.00 – $300.00 per hour (DOE), not including procedures
Procedures: Additional fair market compensation for dermatologic procedures (e.g., punch biopsy, shave biopsy, intralesional steroid injections, cryotherapy, etc.)
