Piano Teacher

Job Overview
The Darien Arts Center is hiring a piano teacher for Tuesdays to start by January 6th. The teacher should have experience teaching beginning piano up to the high intermediate level. Our students range from five to adults. Teachers should be reliable, enjoy teaching, and able to deliver structured lessons using method books and supplementary materials. A degree in music is required. Preference is given to teachers who can also teach voice as well as those who have a short commute to the DAC. Teachers must be familiar with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive music curriculum tailored to the needs of students.
• Plan lesson dates and schedule with families/students
• Teach various music concepts, including theory, performance, and appreciation.
• Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Be available for performances, recitals, or showcases to highlight student progress.
• Provide individualized support to students in their musical development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Music preferred
• Experience working with students in an educational setting is essential.
• Ability to develop engaging curriculum that meets diverse learning needs.
• Passion for music education and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel
• Easily commutes to our studio at 2 Renshaw Rd. Darien, CT 06820
