Role: Senior Manager - HR (Plant HR Manager)

Location: Vasanthanarasapura, Karnataka

Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR and Business Partnering

  • Act as a strategic HR business partner to all functional heads (Production, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, Finance, Commercial etc.).
  • Drive HR initiatives that support productivity, workforce planning, organisation effectiveness and culture-building.
  • Work closely with Plant Head and MD on workforce strategies, capability building and organisational scaling.

Workforce Management and HR Operations

  • Lead manpower planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure timely staffing through recruitment partners, contractors and manpower agencies.
  • Oversee attendance, shift discipline, workforce behaviour and employee-related compliance.
  • Strengthen HR processes, documentation and ensure consistency across the plant.

HR Systems and Governance

  • Drive adoption and effective use of HRMS for attendance, leave, data management and payroll inputs.
  • Build structured SOPs, HR policies and governance frameworks to support a fast-scaling organisation.
  • Develop HR dashboards for visibility to leadership and decision support.

Performance Management and Capability Development

  • Facilitate goal-setting and appraisal cycles in partnership with functional heads.
  • Identify development needs across technicians, supervisors and managerial staff.
  • Enable managers in handling performance issues and coaching conversations.

Employee Engagement and Culture Building

  • Design and implement a structured engagement framework aligned with business priorities, focusing on productivity, retention and organisational effectiveness.
  • Create and implement the plants annual engagement calendar, outlining activities, ownership and timelines to improve workforce experience.
  • Champion initiatives that enhance employer branding, internal communication and overall workplace experience.

Compliance and Payroll

  • Ensure strict adherence to statutory requirements under the Factories Act, CLRA, and other applicable laws.
  • Coordinate with consultants for audits, statutory filings, registers and documentation. Oversee payroll inputs, attendance reconciliation and statutory deductions.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with periodic audits and documentation.

Training and Development

  • Lead the annual Training and Development plan covering technical, behavioural, safety and leadership capabilities across functions.
  • Conduct skill gap analysis in partnership with functional heads to identify capability needs for technicians, supervisors and managerial staff.
  • Implement structured training calendars with clear ownership, timelines and measurable learning outcomes.
  • Partner with external trainers, institutes and technical experts to deliver high-impact training interventions.

Administration Oversight

  • Provide direction and oversight to Administration functions including housekeeping, canteen, transport, security and facility management.
  • Collaborate with the Admin Manager to align administrative processes with overall business and operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven HR leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering setup.
  • Experience working closely with plant leadership and multiple functional stakeholders. Exposure to HRMS implementation and structured HR system-building.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, labour laws and plant HR governance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
  • Graduate / Postgraduate in HR. MBA HR preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,400,000.00 per year
