Position Summary

The Plant Supervisor - Floating position provides leadership to assigned hourly employees thus enabling them to work safely while manufacturing a quality product in an efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be able to work any shift to cover vacations and training needs
  • Work on process improvement projects
  • Must be flexible on the hours they work to cover all openings need to cover or support in the same week
  • Work all departments of production, including Die Butter, Flexos, Specialty Gluer and the Corrugator
  • Work with maintenance to help drive projects and repairs
  • Implements and enforces safe work behavior and promotes safety culture
  • Conducts trainings in safety as well as all applicable plant quality procedures
  • Reviews product quality and ensures that quality standards are being adhered to
  • Reviews, implements, and follows Safe Quality Food policies
  • Ensures all equipment and work centers are adequately staffed and consults with the People Group to determine when personnel adjustments should be made, including temporary worker assignments
  • Monitors product flow to meet production schedules and to ensure on-time deliveries to customers
  • Evaluates machine efficiencies and provides constructive guidance when objectives are not met
  • Issues corrective action when product fails to meet quality standards, or when time and attendance or behavioral issues arise
  • Maintains all assigned machines and work areas in a clean and well-organized manner
  • Adhering to all Company Policies and complying with all governmental policies and regulations
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Any other task or duty that is deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • GED or high school diploma, 1-3 months experience or combination of education and experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
