Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our analytical chemistry applied research team. This role focuses on supporting a multi-laboratory validation (MLV) project and contributing to method development and validation for food and environmental applications. The successful candidate will work closely with senior scientists and collaborating laboratories to ensure high-quality data generation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experiments under the supervision of a senior scientist as part of an MLV study using established analytical methods.
  • Prepare and manage samples for method validation, including coordination with participating labs, sample preparation, shipment, and tracking.
  • Perform LC/MS/MS analysis for data collection, processing, and summarization.
  • Assist in compiling and reporting large datasets for MLV validation and contribute to drafting the final report manuscript.
  • Support additional application projects involving method development and validation.
  • Work with Segment manager(s) to collect market intelligence information in food applications

Program Guidelines:

This post-doctorate opportunity requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week and is an exempt role.

The selected candidates will work onsite in our Delaware Facility, with some opportunity for remote work.

  • The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of a two-year extension.

  • This position is not eligible for Overtime in the US.

Qualifications

  • MSc or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • A solid understanding of quantitative analysis methodologies and validation guidelines is required.
  • Proficiency in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation is required.
  • Hands-on experience with sample preparation techniques for food and environmental matrices is highly desired for this role.
  • Familiarity with instrument software, particularly MassHunter for quantitative analysis, is required.
  • Experience in an industry/commercial testing laboratory is a plus.
  • Proven experience in method development and validation; single-lab validation required, multi-lab validation experience is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing emerging food contaminants, especially PFAS, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of PFAS-related regulatory environments (e.g., food and environmental testing)
  • Strong coordination and teamwork skills, especially in multi-lab collaborative environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong sense of accountability and dedication.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

The US pay rate for this position is $50.73-$63.42 per hour, plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits. Our pay rates are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum intern pay for the position across the relevant US location(s). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including any job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training.
