Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a PhD degree preferably in Entomology or other relevant area. Required expertise in insect biology and behavior, field and laboratory research, molecular techniques for disease detection and transmission, and statistical analysis. Requires good communication skills and computer literacy. Knowledge of conducting laboratory experiments and safely using laboratory equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and high level of computer literacy. Must have a high level of familiarity with typical laboratory equipment and typical software used in entomological research. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Equipment Utilized
Standard laboratory equipment including dissecting and compound microscopes, autoclaves, ethovision, olfactometers, electrical penetration graph (EPG), RT-qPCR.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Will work under laboratory and seasonal field conditions.
