Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a unique individual to join our Legal Operations team as a Pricing Analyst for Outside Counsel and Spend Management. This is not a typical analyst role; it's a strategic partner to our in-house counsel, acting as the bridge between complex data, vendor negotiations, and internal relationships. You will be at the forefront of optimizing how Netflix engages with its legal vendors, ensuring we get maximum value. This role demands a rare blend of deep analytical competency, sophisticated communication skills, and a strategic mindset to drive cost-effective, high-quality outside counsel management support for all of Netflix.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Outside Counsel and Spend Management, you will be part of the Legal Operations and technology team and an analytical resource for Netflix’s in-house counsel globally. Your mission is to provide the data, models, and insights needed to manage outside counsel spend and vendor relationships effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as an analytical partner to Netflix counsel, providing data-driven insights to manage relationships and spend with outside counsel and adjacent legal vendors.

  • Partnering with counsel to draft, review, and negotiate engagement letters and pricing agreements, ensuring terms are favorable and align with Netflix's billing guidelines.

  • Actively tracking and enforcing compliance with billing guidelines and negotiated discount arrangements, working with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies.

  • Developing and modeling innovative pricing structures (e.g., Alternative Fee Arrangements, blended rates, caps) and clearly communicating the ROI and strategic advantages of these models to legal and other cross-functional partners.

  • Conducting in-depth market research and data mining on legal spend, matter budgets, law firm rates, and vendor performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Translating complex data analysis and financial models into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders at all levels, including legal leadership and cross-functional leaders.

  • Driving the adoption and enhancement of tooling and advancements in legal spend management, working to automate and refine our processes.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with key partners in Finance, FP&A, Data Science, and Engineering to enhance legal operations tooling, reporting, and data integrity.

To be successful, you...

  • Proven ability to build complex pricing or financial models and communicate findings effectively to both internal and external stakeholders, including senior attorneys and law firm partners. Experience leading meetings and building consensus is essential.

  • Experience engaging with senior law firm partners and outside counsel, including leading challenging conversations about pricing and value.

  • Minimum 3–5 years in a highly analytical role—such as pricing, financial analysis, legal operations, or strategic sourcing—with a strong emphasis on negotiation. Experience in industries like entertainment, tax, or public affairs is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing contracts and negotiating engagement terms, with a strong attention to detail in pricing structures and legal agreements.

  • Track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, engineering, and data science, to drive business outcomes.

  • Proficiency with e-billing and matter management systems and financial systems.

  • Experience building ROI calculators or analytical tools, exposure to AI tools and predictive analytics, and familiarity with internal collaboration platforms are also nice to have.

Your Key Skills & Attributes

  • Able to convey complex data insights and recommendations to diverse audiences with clarity, confidence, and influence.

  • Demonstrates strong judgment and consistently acts with integrity, representing the best interests of the company.

  • Proactively seeks out new technologies and data-driven approaches to improve processes and drive value.

  • Thrives in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment, building strong relationships across departments.
