We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary English Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching young learners and a strong commitment to fostering a love of language and literature. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing English language lessons, as well as creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and national/state standards.
  • Design a variety of activities, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Teaching and Instruction:
  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that are interactive, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Use effective teaching strategies, such as storytelling, role-play, and group work, to promote active learning.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through language-based activities.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Assess students' progress regularly using a variety of assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' achievements and progress.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love of learning.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote discipline.
  • Use classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Parent Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Organize parent-teacher conferences to discuss students' academic and social development.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in English language teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in English language arts, including phonics, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Passion for teaching young learners and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English to young learners.
  • Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and strategies.
  • Proficiency in using technology in the classroom.
