Kai USA, the manufacturer of Kershaw Knives and Zero Tolerance Knives in Tualatin, Oregon, continues to grow and has an immediate need for a Process Engineer.

Schedule: Monday -Friday 7am -3:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

The Process Engineer is part of a highly skilled team and will be involved in working with innovative technologies, creating processes, increasing efficiency … all in the support of making the best U.S. manufactured pocketknives.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot current processes
  • Recommend and implement new processes to decrease costs, increase efficiency, improve quality, and improve safety.
  • Collaborate with industry experts, production personnel, and other internal resources to perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
  • Document processes and train production employees.
  • Create process drawings and inspection sheets following engineering standards.
  • Write work instructions for a multi-cultural workforce.
  • Identify gaps in training and recommend internal or external training programs.

Work Environment:

This job entails work in both an office and a climate-controlled manufacturing setting; integrating with highly skilled tradesmen. You must be team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Kershaw is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • The qualified employee will have bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience in creating processes in a production environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on mechanical and analytical experience in a production environment creating processes related to machining operations, processing machined components, and assembly.
  • Ability to manage assigned projects and follow through on process improvement procedures.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and SolidWorks.
  • CNC programming and setup experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $98,000 to $96,000 annually depending on experience.

Pay: $96,000.00 - $98,000.00 per year
