Job Summary
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required by the organization. This role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to support organizational needs.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and quality materials/services.
- Prepare, issue, and manage Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) in line with company policies and ensure all LPOs are accurately documented and approved.
- Track and follow up on LPOs to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or quantity discrepancies.
- Maintain an updated list of approved local suppliers and support continuous supplier evaluation.
- Conduct market research to monitor pricing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with finance to ensure proper invoice matching, payment processing, and reconciliation.
- Maintain procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand material requirements and prioritize urgent requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–3 years experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures, contract negotiation, and LPO management.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially in preparing LPOs and procurement documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict timelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP procurement modules.
