Job Title: Procurement Officer – Construction Industry

Location: Abu Dhabi

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services at the best possible rates while ensuring quality and timely delivery. The role requires strong market knowledge, vendor management skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials and services.

Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), compare quotations, and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.

Ensure timely procurement of materials as per project requirements and specifications.

Maintain and update the procurement schedule for ongoing projects.

Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure compliance with company policies and project budgets.

Coordinate with the engineering, project, and site teams to understand material requirements.

Monitor and track material deliveries and follow up with suppliers for timely dispatch.

Maintain proper documentation of all procurement records, contracts, and agreements.

Evaluate supplier performance and maintain an approved vendor list.

Ensure compliance with quality standards, technical specifications, and safety requirements.

Assist in cost control and budgeting by identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Stay updated with market trends, price fluctuations, and new materials/products in the construction sector.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Procurement Officer in the construction industry (UAE experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of construction materials, technical specifications, and market rates.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.

Strong time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.

Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Valid UAE driving license (preferred).
