Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs clerical and related work of moderate difficulty in support of the University’s travel and purchasing groups.
Job Duties
- Reviews requisitions and approves purchase orders up to $15,000. Obtains competitive bids for procurement of items over $15,000. Ensures compliance with purchasing policies and state regulations.
- Reconciles and audits PCard transactions on a monthly basis. Oversees the operations of office supply purchases as well as Amazon approvals. Assists with administering the University PCard and Travel Card Program.
- Vendor onboarding process (PaymentWorks/USAS/Banner). Leads customer training programs for purchasing and contract office.
- Lead purchasing and travel office in system and software implementation, upgrades, and testing. Oversee project management and documentation of processes related to office automation conversions and/or updated policy and procedures.
- Interacts in a professional and service-oriented manner with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and others contacted in the course of work. Serves on University committees and advisory groups; attends professional conferences, training, and other meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Clerical and general office procedures and practices.
- University purchasing forms and processes.
- Operation of computer keyboards and general office equipment.
- Basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, and division.

- Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.

- Ability to type 35–45 words per minute with accuracy.

- Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with others and maintain professionalism in the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Three years of general clerical or equivalent experience OR two years of purchasing office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Texas Purchaser certification preferred.
Pay: $34,611.00 - $37,000.00 per year
