Overview
The United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois is accepting applications for the position of Procurement Specialist reporting directly to the Procurement Administrator. Procurement Specialists perform and coordinate administrative, technical, and professional work related to ensuring that court units are supplied with the materials, equipment, and services required to function optimally, including ensuring compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and approved internal controls.

Qualifications
· A minimum high school graduation or equivalent and one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at the CL 24 grade level. Specialized experience is progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, practices, and principles of procurement administration and/or financial administration and/or accounting; and involved the routine use of automated financial and accounting systems or other computer-based systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, or databases.
· Education above the high school level may not be substituted for specialized experience because administrative court support positions require hands-on experience to be credited as specialized experience.
Preferred Skills:
· Prior federal contracting or purchasing experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with court staff, vendors,
and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
· Ability to work as part of a team.
· Ability to prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines.
· A professional demeanor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,890.00 - $87,482.00 per year
