ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you a data-driven problem solver who thrives on turning complex data into clear business insights? Orion180 is seeking a Data Analyst to support our Product Team, helping to optimize our homeowners insurance products and drive data-informed decisions that fuel growth and profitability.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with Product Managers, Underwriting, and Technology teams to transform raw data into actionable intelligence—shaping the future of Orion180’s product strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Analyze Product Performance: Evaluate product KPIs such as loss ratios, premium growth, policy retention, and coverage mix to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Data Modeling & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, SQL, and Excel to deliver real-time product insights to leadership.
  • Support Product Enhancements: Work alongside Product Managers to measure the impact of rate changes, coverage adjustments, and underwriting rules.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with IT, Actuarial, and Underwriting teams to validate data accuracy, ensure alignment across systems, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Quality & Testing: Lead data validation and participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure accuracy of product implementations and system updates.
  • Market Research: Leverage internal and external data to benchmark Orion180’s product performance against market trends and competitors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate reporting, enhance data pipelines, and strengthen the organization’s analytics maturity.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, Power BI (or Tableau), and Excel; experience with Python or R for data manipulation preferred.
  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights and business recommendations.
  • Insurance or Financial Services Experience: Prior exposure to Property & Casualty Insurance, actuarial, or product analytics environments is a strong plus.
  • Attention to Detail: A passion for accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement in data integrity and reporting.
