Hi I'm Nelson the CEO and Co Founder at HowNow I’m looking for a Product Analyst (Founding Analytics Hire) to join us.

We’re looking for a Product Analyst joining a well-established and talented Product team in Mumbai. To take ownership of Mixpanel analytics and elevate it from basic event tracking to a strategic capability that drives product decisions, customer success insights, and measurable business impact.

Day-to-day tasks will include


Expand and Standardise Product Analytics

  • Audit the current Mixpanel setup to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and underused events.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to define a standard tracking taxonomy that covers your key user flows (e.g. learning engagement, skill adoption, Guru interactions, Plus usage).
  • Prioritise event instrumentation where data will have the highest impact — not full coverage, but full value.
  • Maintain the Mixpanel schema and documentation to ensure tracking consistency across future releases.

    Turn Data into Actionable Insights
  • Build Mixpanel dashboards and reports that surface core product metrics: activation, engagement, retention, and business outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Managers to analyse behavioural patterns, who succeeds, who churns, which features correlate with skill growth or business outcomes.
  • Share insights through weekly or monthly “product health” updates and ad-hoc deep dives.
    Support Customer Success with data on feature adoption and account health signals.

    Enable Experimentation and Learning
  • Help define success metrics for new feature releases an product experiments.
  • Support PMs in analyzing pre/post impact and experiment outcomes.
  • Document learnings to build a feedback loop between data and roadmap planning.

    Build the Foundation for Scalable Analytics
  • Create and maintain a “Product Metrics Playbook” — definitions, formulas, dashboards, and data sources for key KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to connect Mixpanel data with other systems (CRM, Intercom, HubSpot, BI tools) for richer insights.
  • Advise on light data governance and event instrumentation best practices for engineers and PMs.

The key things that we will be looking for in applicants

  • Analytically strong: Skilled at exploring data, spotting patterns, and framing hypotheses.
  • Technically capable: Confident writing SQL or using APIs to connect Mixpanel to other sources.
  • Product fluent: Understands user behavior, not just dashboards.
  • Communicator: Can distil complex data into simple stories that drive action
  • Builder: Enjoys designing systems, definitions, and frameworks from scratch

What you’ll get:

Our salaries are calculated using a SaaS benchmarking tool called (Figures).The salary band for this role is ₹ 15- ₹ 20LPA per annum, depending on experience. You’ll also receive a 10% performance-based bonus on top.

Hybrid working (in our offices 3x a week Mon-Wed)

Wind-down Fridays. No meetings from 3pm onwards on Fridays, for you to wind down for the weekend. Our HowNow’ers use this time to exercise, study, or spend some time with their family and friends, which you can read about here
