Position Summary
The Production Expeditor plays a critical role in supporting multiple production areas, ensuring smooth workflow, production continuity, and assists in timely execution of all released job orders. This role requires versatility, adaptability, and efficiency to transition seamlessly between different workstations, including manufacturing, shipping, and stockroom operations. The Production Expeditor is also responsible for job closures, material transactions, inventory movement, and training associates across multiple departments. This position ensures that jobs are completed efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality standards in a fast-paced Production environment
Duties & Responsibilities

Mech-to-post assembly

Final post assembly

Machining plastics

Post-to-base inserts

Gluing station

Shipping and stockroom

Close production jobs, ensuring materials are properly transacted and adjusted accordingly. Maintains or assists with maintenance of inventory and supplies. Confirms availability of items to be shipped by verifying inventory records or conducting inventory of required items.

Deliver materials and completed products between departments to maintain production flow. Collects and analyzes data regarding efficiency and timeliness of production. Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.

Train and mentor team members in various production and shipping tasks, ensuring knowledge transfer and efficiency improvements.

Ensure quality and accuracy in all assigned workstations, conducting self-checks to minimize errors.

Proactively assist where needed in production, shipping, or stockroom based on workload demands

Identify and communicate workflow bottlenecks or process inefficiencies, offering solutions for improvement by creating, revising, and releasing production job orders to department supervisors for distribution.

Collaborates with clients, suppliers, and delivery vendors to discuss timelines and answer inquiries.

Own and manages sub jobs and process as necessary.

Manage all coordination and communication with departments and customers, including Customer Service as it pertains to weights, dimensions, and rates including shipping delays.

Coordinates and schedules the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products.

Directs forklift drivers to store/move goods in identified areas.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management and/or required due to business needs.

Adhere to all safety and compliance standards across different departments.
Travel Requirement
No travel: This role is primarily based on-site in the production facility.

Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology.

Ability to train and support associates in learning new skills.

Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.

Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
-
Technical or certification in manufacturing, logistics, or production operations (preferred).
-
1-2 years in manufacturing, production, shipping, or stockroom operations. Experience gained through employment at Lavi Industries is helpful.

Bilingual in English / Spanish
Work Environment
While performing the job duties of this job, the employee is regularly expose to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work area is usually moderate.
Steel-toed shoes are required.
