Job Description – Production Head

Position Overview:

The Production Head will be responsible for leading the entire production operations, ensuring timely manufacturing, quality output, manpower management, and adherence to all electrical industry standards. The candidate must have a strong electrical engineering background and experience in transformer or electrical product manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure timely execution of production targets as per customer and dispatch requirements.
• Optimize resource utilization (manpower, machines, materials).

2. Technical & Electrical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of electrical components, CT/PT Transformers, LV/HV systems, wiring, and testing procedures.
• Guide the team in resolving technical and electrical production issues.
• Work closely with design, QA, and testing teams for technical improvements.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure production follows IEC, IS, and company quality standards.
• Implement quality checks, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with safety norms and electrical industry regulations.

4. Team Leadership & Manpower Management

• Lead, train, and supervise the production team and shift supervisors.
• Manage workforce allocation and daily shop-floor discipline.
• Promote teamwork, safety, and productivity across departments.

5. Process Improvement

• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Improve production efficiency, reduce wastage, and minimize rework.
• Monitor machinery health and coordinate maintenance schedules.

6. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with Purchase, Store, Quality, Planning, and Dispatch teams.
• Review daily production reports, rejection rates, and downtime reports.
• Present production performance to Management/Director.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Diploma / BE in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Experience: 8–15 years in electrical manufacturing, preferably CT/PT transformer industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, testing procedures, and transformer manufacturing processes.
• Leadership skills, decision-making ability, and problem-solving mind-set.
• Good communication, planning, and production management skills.
