Job Title: Material PlannerPosition Summary
The Material Planner plays a critical role in ensuring that production operations run smoothly by coordinating materials, schedules, and workflow throughout the value stream. This position operates in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment and is responsible for executing, issuing, and controlling MRP-driven production schedules. The planner serves as the primary connection between production management, first-line supervisors, and material control personnel to ensure materials are available on time, inventory is accurate, and production deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and maintain MRP-based production schedules, ensuring accurate and timely material availability.
- Serve as the main liaison between production leadership, material control specialists, supply chain, and warehouse operations.
- Monitor shop floor material flow, identify shortages or risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Perform inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies, including issues related to replenishment, obsolescence, lost or misdirected items, and incoming material delays.
- Track work order progress, update material consumption data, and process transactions such as goods receipts, stock postings, and move orders.
- Collaborate with engineering, supplier quality, technicians, and operations supervisors to resolve material constraints and support schedule adherence.
- Prepare and manage documents such as release requests, shipping paperwork, material requests, and status reports.
- Conduct demand reviews for both on-hand materials and pending incoming supplies, ensuring adequate coverage for production schedules.
- Analyze stockout trends and gather data across departments to evaluate availability, customer impact, and lead-time requirements.
- Support cycle counts, PFEP (Plan for Every Part) adjustments, and vendor-managed inventory activities to improve overall material performance.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and problem-solving to support continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); basic proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Ability to accurately track work orders, material usage, cycle time, scrap, and reorder activity using an MRP system.
- Experience ensuring shop floor supply by establishing accurate MRP inputs and preventing line shortages.
- Able to communicate material constraints and coordinate actions with supply chain, warehouse, and production teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and process improvement capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on MRP experience (Oracle or SAP preferred).

Experience Requirements
Required:
- 1+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, planning, or a related role.
Preferred:
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industries.
Education Requirements
Required:
- Associate degree in a technical or business-related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field.

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
