Job Description – Production Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily shop-floor activities, ensure smooth production operations, maintain quality, and guide the production team. The candidate must have an electrical background and experience in transformer or electrical component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Production Management

• Supervise and manage day-to-day production on the shop floor.
• Ensure production targets are completed within timelines.
• Allocate tasks to technicians, helpers, and operators.

2. Electrical & Technical Knowledge

• Good understanding of electrical components, CT/PT transformers, wiring, coil winding, assembly, and testing.
• Assist in troubleshooting production and electrical issues.
• Read and understand electrical drawings and work instructions.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure products meet company and electrical industry quality standards.
• Monitor work in progress, check for defects, and reduce rework.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and 5S practices.

4. Manpower & Shop-floor Management

• Supervise production staff and maintain discipline.
• Train new workers on processes and electrical safety.
• Maintain attendance, work distribution, and productivity records.

5. Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with Store, Purchase, Testing, and Quality teams for smooth workflow.
• Report daily production output, material shortage, machine issues, and delays.
• Support Production Head/Manager for audits and planning.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Experience: 1–4 years in electrical manufacturing (transformers preferred).
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical assembly, winding, fitting, and testing processes.
• Ability to manage a team and maintain shop-floor discipline.
• Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
