Program Manager/Trainer - North Central Florida

Basic Function

Under the general direction and supervision of the Regional Programs Director (RPD), this position will manage the ‘Watch Stander’ Veteran suicide prevention training program, the Veteran Safe Place (VSP) program, and the ‘Ambassador’ Train-the-Trainer program in the applicable geographic area, as customized for the VA’s Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP). This Manager has the authority to act on the RPD’s behalf to provide direction to vendors and employees associated with delivering Veteran suicide prevention training.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Manage daily tasks of the abovementioned programs, customized for SSG Fox SPGP
• Identify, coordinate, train, and manage individuals as Watch Standers
• Identify, coordinate, train, and manage organizations as VSPs
• Identify, coordinate, train, and manage individuals as Ambassadors
• Post training administrative duties, as required
• Represent The Fire Watch at special events and/or make presentations when needed
• Receive and respond to questions and concerns from regional stakeholders, including Watch Standers, prospective Watch Standers, community partners, vendors, sponsors, etc.
• Periodically review all training to ensure safety, compliance, and accuracy
• Review and administer progress reports for the RPD

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may manage a volunteer staff of 3-5 Ambassador trainers

Other Duties

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management
• Maintain positive and professional communication with organization and partner employees
• Collaborate with management to develop best practices for Veteran suicide prevention programming

Qualifications

• Have a college diploma or equivalent
• Must have strong knowledge or experience in suicide prevention and mental health resilience
• Preference for U.S. military Veteran
• Must have qualified as a Fire Watch ‘Watch Stander’ at www.thefirewatch.org
• Must have good leadership and management skills and be highly motivated
• Must have good presentation and public speaking skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
