Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Project Engineer (Mechanical)
with strong experience in
procurement of heavy machinery/equipment
and
on-site supervision
. The ideal candidate will have a solid mechanical engineering background, hands-on project execution expertise, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, vendors, and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Site Supervision

Supervise and coordinate daily site activities related to mechanical works, equipment installation, commissioning, and testing.

Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Liaise with contractors, equipment suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to resolve site issues.

Conduct site inspections, prepare progress reports, and ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering drawings.

Ensure proper execution of heavy machinery installation, alignment, commissioning, and operational testing.
2. Procurement & Vendor Management

Lead the procurement cycle for heavy machinery and industrial equipment—prepare technical specifications, RFQs, BOQs, and evaluation sheets.

Review vendor technical submittals, quotations, and ensure technical compliance with project requirements.

Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, delivery terms, warranties, and service agreements.

Coordinate purchase orders, delivery schedules, logistics, and follow-up to ensure timely availability of equipment at site.

Build and maintain relationships with machinery/equipment OEMs, distributors, and service providers.
3. Engineering & Technical Support

Interpret mechanical engineering drawings, layouts, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and project documentation.

Provide technical input during design reviews, equipment selection, and system integration.

Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.

Support project manager in planning, scheduling, risk identification, and mitigation measures.
4. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare technical reports, inspection checklists, procurement logs, and project documentation.

Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, company policies, and HSE guidelines.

Maintain accurate records of procurement, delivery, warranties, service reports, and equipment certifications.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
(mandatory).

3–8 years
of experience as a Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Procurement Engineer.

Proven experience in
procurement of heavy machinery/equipment
(e.g., compressors, cranes, pumps, mechanical systems, industrial equipment, construction machinery).

Prior hands-on experience in
site supervision
, mechanical installation, and commissioning activities.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial projects, construction site practices, and vendor coordination.
