Project Engineer / Maintenance Manager – Southern California (Permanent Position)

City: Wilmington and Long Beach

Seeking a Project Engineering Manager to oversee Maintenance Operations and/or Projects in the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, modification and retrofit of large Ship to Shore Gantry Container Handling Cranes and Power Equipment. Involves planning, coordination, technical support, suggesting engineering changes, providing customer liaison, reviewing of equipment specifications, and maintenance programs and records. Provide direction and leadership to foreman, mechanics and electricians, resolution of issues between different shifts and maximizing equipment uptime.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Project Management
• Experience Required (minimum 5 years total):
• 3 years Engineering, Maintenance, Project Management
• 3 years minimum experience in a supervisory Capacity
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to read drawings electrical, mechanical, and structural.

PREFERENCES:

• Experience with variable speed A/C and D/C control systems.
• Experience with Diesel Engines
• Experience with PLC’s
• Experience with Automation
• Experience working with Union labor is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
