Projects & Energy Finance Associate

Its Finance Practice, particularly the Projects & Energy subgroup, supports some of the most complex infrastructure and energy deals worldwide. This role centers around the energy transition space—renewable project finance, tax equity, and carbon credit monetization. DLA is not venture-funded and operates on a partner-led global platform that serves leading corporations, funds, and governments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Advise on the structuring, documentation, and closing of complex project finance transactions
• Represent sponsors, developers, lenders, and tax equity investors in renewable energy projects
• Work on energy transition financings including solar, wind, battery storage, and carbon capture projects
• Draft and negotiate finance agreements, credit facilities, intercreditor agreements, and tax equity documentation
• Support M&A transactions involving renewable energy and infrastructure assets
• Assist clients with federal tax credit monetization strategies (ITC/PTC)
• Stay current on ESG regulations, IRA policy impacts, and energy tax guidance

Job Requirements:

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in relevant U.S. jurisdiction
• Minimum 4 years of project finance or energy finance experience
• Experience with tax equity, energy credit monetization, or renewable finance
• Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions and coordinate across teams
• Understanding of regulatory issues in renewable energy development
• Prior AmLaw 100 experience – preferred
• Experience with international energy projects – preferred
• Familiarity with hydrogen, CCUS, or emerging energy tech – preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $310,000.00 - $435,000.00 per year
