Craft & Communicate, LLC is hiring for a Proofreader to support our Client Relations and Content teams.

About the Role

The Proofreader ensures all written content produced by our agency is accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand and voice guidelines. This role supports our communications, digital, content, and web teams by providing a meticulous final check before materials go to clients or are published online. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong judgment, and a deep understanding of grammar, tone, and clarity across multiple content types.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit a variety of content, including:
  • Webpages and landing pages
  • Blogs and long-form articles
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Social media content
  • Press releases, print pieces, ads, and brochures
  • Client presentations and proposals
  • Ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax at all times.
  • Confirm accuracy of content (dates, names, community details, numerical data).
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines, style guides, and tone of voice across all client deliverables.
  • Conduct fact-checking and verify source information as needed.
  • Flag unclear, inconsistent, or off-brand language and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with writers, designers, and client relations teams to clarify questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain and evolve style guides and proofreading standards for the agency.
  • Provide quick-turn reviews for time-sensitive deliverables when needed.
  • Support quality control processes and help improve proofreading workflows across teams.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in proofreading, editing, or content quality assurance (agency experience strongly preferred).
  • Exceptional command of English grammar and AP Style (or willingness to adapt to agency style preferences).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to catch subtle errors consistently.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience proofreading for web/digital content (SEO, formatting, readability best practices).
  • Ability to give constructive feedback professionally and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with senior living terminology is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with project management tools is helpful.
