Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The PROWD Employment Services Specialist will provide intensive case management and follow-up services to individuals under the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons who are residing in contracted Residential Reentry Centers (RRCs), on home confinement, or recently released into the community. Form Integrated Resource Teams (IRTs) in collaboration with RRC Case Managers, Employment Specialists, and other support partners. Connect participants with individualized services and community resources to address barriers to employment and stability. Coordinate workforce services with RRC staff to avoid duplication and utilize local labor market information to identify high-demand, high-wage opportunities for participants.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide intensive case management and follow-up services to program participants who are under the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and reside in one of the three contracted Residential Reentry Centers (RRCs) in the State or on home confinement, and those released from the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons residing in the community.
  • Form Integrated Resource Teams (IRTs) for each participant, a collaboration between the RRC Case Managers and Employment Specialists contracted by the Bureau of Prisons and other individuals involved in the participants’ plan.
  • Connect participants with individualized services and community resources to overcome work and life issues that interfere with holding and keeping jobs.
  • Provide workforce services to program participants in coordination with RRC staff, to reduce duplication of services. Provide access to and oversight of online Workplace Readiness curriculum. Understand and access available Commerce programs such as Registered Apprenticeship, Commerce Employment Network and Ticket to Work Program, Older Kansans Employment Program and KTRAIN.
  • Understand and utilize local labor market information to identify high demand high wage occupations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in case management or correctional facility programming/service delivery.
