Physician (Washington) – Telehealth Mental Health for Physicians and Healthcare Professionals

Location: Remote (Telehealth – Washington)

Position Type: (2-8 hrs/wk) | Remote | Contract

Position Overview

Tend Health is seeking a licensed Psychiatrist (MD/DO) Licensed in Washington to provide assessments and medication management via telehealth. This role involves working collaboratively with psychologists who provide psychotherapy to shared clients, primarily healthcare professionals, including medical residents and fellows. The ideal candidate is looking to expand their clinical practice in a concierge-style telehealth model within an innovative and growing growth stage (five year) startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct brief and ongoing assessments and medication management
  • Provide seamless support through secure video sessions, phone, and messaging platforms
  • Tailor services to meet client needs with flexible scheduling
  • Engage in case discussions and collaborate with psychologists and other health providers
  • Refer clients to additional services as needed

Qualifications

  • Education: MD/DO in Psychiatry, Family Medicine or relevant specialty, licensed to practice in Washington. (active, valid and unrestricted license)
  • Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience in mental health care
  • Experience working with physicians and healthcare professionals as patients, in medical settings, integrated care teams, or health professions training programs a must.
  • Licensure: Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license in the State of Washington along with active DEA (controlled substance prescriber)
  • Certification: Board-certified in Psychiatry or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Passion for providing one-on-one consultation and medication management. Must be comfortable prescribing controlled medications via telehealth.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of telehealth regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), telehealth platforms, and other digital tools.
  • Experience teaching in residency programs or working in clinical settings is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
  • Some schedule flexibility.

Compensation

  • Independent Contractor Arrangement (1099)
  • Competitive hourly rates (starting at $200 per hour)
