A Public Relations Officer for a school is responsible for promoting the institution's brand, increasing student enrollment, and managing internal and external communications. This role requires a blend of creative and analytical skills to develop and execute campaigns that highlight the school's value proposition to prospective students and parents.
Core Responsibilities
- Campaign Management: Plan, organize, and execute integrated marketing campaigns (both online and offline) to drive enrollment and generate leads.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media: Manage the school's website, SEO, and social media platforms (Facebook, etc.), creating engaging content and monitoring performance using web analytics.
- Content Creation & Branding: Develop and ensure consistency of all marketing materials, including brochures, print media, advertisements, and the school prospectus, adhering to brand guidelines.
- Event Coordination: Plan and provide support for marketing events, such as open houses, information sessions, exhibitions, and local outreach programs, to showcase the school's offerings.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to understand educational trends, competitor activity, and target audience demographics to inform marketing strategies and measure campaign ROI.
- Relationship Management: Collaborate closely with the admissions team, school administrators, parents, and external vendors/agencies to ensure aligned efforts and effective delivery of initiatives.
- Data & Reporting: Utilize CRM systems to track, analyze, and report on marketing campaign performance, making recommendations for improvement.
- Public Relations: Support PR communications and build relationships within the community to enhance the school's reputation.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree
- Experience: Prior experience in marketing, preferably within the education sector, is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasive and engaging copy.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media platforms, analytics, and basic design/publishing tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe Creative Suite).
- Organizational Skills: Strong project management, time management, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
