Essential Duties, Tasks, and Functions:

The duties, tasks, and functions listed below combine to help define this position within the Company but should not be interpreted as exhaustive of all responsibilities the position may require.   • Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels;
  • Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality;
  • Liaising between suppliers, identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them;
  • Review and update material templates for all sites weekly.
  • Create new templates for all new plans
  • Work with site manager and provide material cost for all new bids
  • Manage any, and cost increases from venders.
  • Review and maintain templates per community and options
  • Review online material orders for excess
  • Review returns for excess material
  • Maintain contract pricing in all company systems
  • Check PO’s for accuracy
  • Confirm we are purchasing material at our agreed upon price
  • Confirm like material costs are comparable between sites
  • Confirm material pricing in the profitability spread sheet is accurate
  • Spot checking job pulls and allocations for accuracy
  • Bid new work for new customers
  • Research new saving cost ideas
  • Review customer lighting take off for profitability
  • Help sites maintain and use our panel schedule
  • Help build town home underground material take off per community
  • Help with multi family take off
  • Follows and adheres to all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the above-listed duties, tasks, and functions.

  • Minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience or equivalent education and/or experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Proficient with computer software and applications, including Microsoft software.
  • Ability to read and write in English proficiently, including interpreting documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, invoices, shipping/packing lists, and materials lists.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in English in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
