Position Summary

This is a Working Manager role responsible for hands-on purchasing activity as well as leadership within the supply-chain process. The Purchasing Manager oversees all military procurement and coordinates shipment scheduling while actively performing daily purchasing, PO entry, expediting, and vendor communication. This role ensures customers receive accurate, timely, and dependable service by managing procurement activities, maintaining effective supplier relationships, overseeing POs, and ensuring on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is customer-service driven, proactive, and excels in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement (Hands-On Working Manager Role)

  • Perform daily purchasing duties, including creating, entering, and maintaining all purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system.
  • Manage all military and defense-related purchasing in alignment with customer specifications, compliance standards, and delivery expectations.

Scheduling & Logistics

  • Develop and maintain shipment schedules aligned with customer delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth, timely order fulfillment.
  • Monitor open orders, identify risks, and expedite shipments as needed to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply, responsiveness, and quality.
  • Track supplier performance and address issues that may affect customer delivery or service levels.
  • Manage lead times, expedite critical items, and ensure vendor commitments are met.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of purchasing or supply-chain experience; defense or government contracting experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform hands-on purchasing and PO entry in a Working Manager capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related experience is preferred
  • Strong commitment to customer service and clear communication.
  • Experience in procurement, scheduling, logistics coordination, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is a Must

Excellent organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,276.23 - $77,407.94 per year
