Description:
The Control Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring materials required to support production operations while managing inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and key production metrics. This role supports multiple locations and plays a critical part in maintaining efficient production flow, resolving supplier-related issues, and contributing to new project activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Knowledge of IATF standards and ISO 14001 environmental requirements is essential for ensuring compliance and supporting continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Purchase and coordinate materials required to support production demands.
- Monitor and manage multiple KPIs related to cost, performance, and profitability.
- Create and maintain reporting tools to identify and prevent potential issues.
- Oversee 400–600 part number inventories across multiple facility locations.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Address and resolve supplier-related production issues promptly.
- Support responsibilities tied to new project launches, including planning and material readiness.
- Create schedules and manage change points to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide leadership and support to large groups and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure alignment with IATF requirements and support quality-related initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of ISO 14001 environmental standards and assist in related compliance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing and fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in production control, purchasing, or a related field.
- Knowledge of IATF and ISO 14001 standards.
- Experience with ordering and scheduling production of goods.
- Experience in inventory management and supplier coordination.
- Comfortable with minor public speaking.
- Frequent travel to supplier locations as required.
- Flexible hours based on production and supplier needs.

- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and the individual must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the production floor, which includes head protection, hearing protection, safety eye protection, gloves, sleeves and steel-toes safety shoes, high visibility vest.
