Title: Purchasing Specialist

Position Summary: As a member of the Supply Chain Management Team, the Purchasing Specialist implements advanced skills to analyze large complex sets of sales data to effectively project future product demand. The Purchasing Specialist collaborates closely with the Sales Team to meet global corporate objectives, submitting initial buys and accurately following the Product Development Timeline (PDT) to ensure all testing is completed as specified, materials or risk buys are placed as needed, and that deliveries are shipped as required. In addition, the individual in this role supports R&D Product Managers to place initial purchases, and provide a high level of customer service to the Order Entry and Technical Support Teams regarding product questions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold responsibility and leadership for lighting product categories as designated.
  • Monitor Global Market Conditions. Deliver proactive recommendations accordingly.
  • Manage the process of placing weekly replenishment orders.
  • Develop and drive strategy to optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Reduce excess and obsolete finished goods inventory.
  • Manage initial order quantities and ensure on time delivery for new introductions.
  • Perform consistent monitoring of inventory turn at Plant level to ensure proper inventory flow.
  • Quickly respond to Special Order requests, providing confirmed lead times for planned production.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Department to fulfill orders and manage stock transfer of components between all Warehouses.
  • Execute multi-source purchasing strategy on core items and new prototypes as well as avoid potential vendor and market issues which would cause supply interruption.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Business, or another closely related field of study.
  • 1-2 years of related professional experience in a high-volume, fast-moving Supply Chain or Purchasing environment.
  • Proven high level organizational skills with experience prioritizing multiple changing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to exhibit flexibility and adaptability to changing directives and priorities.
  • Proven applied knowledge and understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High level listening, written, verbal communication, analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to consistently and accurately follow established practices, policies and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a challenging, fast-paced rapidly changing environment.

The expected salary is 65,500 - 68,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors allowed by law.
