Summary: Detail-oriented, highly organized Purchasing Support Specialist with experience supporting procurement activities in fast-paced manufacturing environment. Skilled in preparing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers to secure raw materials and components, perishable tooling, MRO items, and ensuring timely delivery to keep production schedules on track. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory requirements, and materials. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for materials, supplies, and services.
- Review requisitions for accuracy and approvals.
- Follow up on open orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Update inventory systems to reflect items pulled for kits.
- Locate and pull correct parts from inventory storage locations.
- Communicate low stock levels or discrepancies.
- Assist restocking and rotating materials
- Conduct monthly cycle counts using ABC logic.
- Ensure all components are present and meet quality standards.
- Stage or package components together as a complete kit for production or assembly.
- Enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and streamline administrative processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable attendance and adherence to work schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience and Education:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training
Technical Experience:
- Able to read and interpret paperwork and specifications
- Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
- Problem solving abilities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
- Understand and obey safety requirements
- Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more
- Frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Continual standing, walking, sitting.
- Continual keyboarding and use of a monitor.
