Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer (Civil) is responsible for ensuring that all civil works meet required quality standards, project specifications, codes, and client expectations. The role involves inspection, documentation, testing coordination, and continuous quality improvement across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the project’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan.
- Conduct site inspections for civil works including excavation, concreting, reinforcement, formwork, masonry, finishing, and infrastructure works.
- Review and verify material submittals, method statements, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and shop drawings.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve quality-related issues.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), CARs (Corrective Action Requests), and maintain proper documentation.
- Ensure that materials used and work executed meet approved quality benchmarks.
- Oversee laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials.
- Assist in root-cause analysis and support corrective/preventive actions.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Train site personnel on quality procedures and best practices.
- Promote a “quality first” culture across the project team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in QA/QC roles in construction or infrastructure projects (typically 2–7 years).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, IS codes, etc.).
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and use of QA/QC tools.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple agencies.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
- QA/QC Civil Engineer Certification
- PMP or construction management certifications
Working Conditions:
- Based on-site with occasional office work.
- Involves field inspections and coordination with contractors and consultants.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹10,514.63 - ₹50,000.00 per month
