Position Overview
Sansin America is seeking a Lab Tech with a passion for wood to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of essential technical support and contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the team.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Learn and perform lab procedures, data analysis, and timely reporting of results
- Prepare formulations, materials, specimens, and conduct testing as per specifications.
- Evaluate raw materials and processes to ensure stability and compatibility
- Ensure all tests are completed and results meet all specifications
- Enter all inventory and batch data into the record system
- Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines and procedures, including handling potentially hazardous substances.
- Test, identify and address non-conforming material according to specifications
- Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for Quality Control and Assurance
- Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality to protect confidential and proprietary information
Required Skills and Experience
- 2 years of lab experience in water-based coating formulation and applications.
- Open-minded, creative, and innovative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of color theory, color systems and familiarity with color matching theory and instrumentation
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding the practical aspects of laboratory & equipment safety – familiar with proper PPE, safety protocols, etc
- Ability to keep all trade secrets, patents, and proprietary information in the strictest confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or another related field (Chemical Engineer, Material Science) preferred, but will consider a combination of education and direct coatings industry experience.
Working Conditions
- Reliable form of transportation to get to and from work is a must
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Some travel required to offsite test fields
- Flexible and available to work extra hours if required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
