Role Description

You'll continue to build out our mobile application (iOS and Android) using React Native as well as help maintain our version1 code base. This is the primary user-facing product - you'll own the entire mobile experience working closely with our technical lead who will collaborate with you throughout the entire SLDC. This role is based in Dubai with candidates expected to work full-time on site in the interim.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and Ship Features: Design, code, test, and deliver mobile features for iOS and Android from a single codebase
• Backend Development: Implement user interfaces, navigation, video playback, camera/QR functionality, real-time updates, and social interactions
• Component Library: Create reusable, maintainable components that can be shared across the app
• Performance: Optimize app performance, handle video playback smoothly, ensure responsive UI
• Platform Specifics: Handle iOS and Android differences, platform-specific features when needed
• Collaborate: Work directly with technical lead on architecture and implementation, participate in technical discussions

Required Skills

• 3-5 years building mobile applications: You've shipped apps to the App Store and Play Store
• Strong React Native experience: You understand the framework, its limitations, and best practices
• JavaScript/TypeScript: You write clean, maintainable code
• Mobile UI development: You can implement designs and create good user experiences
• API integration: Comfortable working with REST APIs, handling async data, managing state
• Debugging skills: You can troubleshoot platform-specific issues and performance problems
• Self-sufficient: You research solutions and figure things out independently
• Communication: You collaborate well and explain technical decisions clearly

• Video playback in mobile apps
• Social app experience
• In-app purchases or payment integration
• Flutter

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field ( Desirable )
