Job Purpose

The Commodity Manager oversees daily operations within the Chemical function, managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and cost optimization initiatives. This role ensures timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.

Lead the Chemical Commodity portfolio for CNH Industrial in India, driving the development and execution of sourcing strategies for chemical-related components across Agriculture (AG) and Construction Equipment (CE) segments. This role ensures cost competitiveness, supply security, and quality compliance for all CNH plants and the India Technology Centre.
Key categories include Tires, Plastics, Rubber, Seals, Seats, Filters, Lubricants, and related materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement commodity strategies aligned with global and regional objectives. Drive strategic sourcing projects and Best Cost Country (BCC) initiatives for CNH global plants and AMS.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers; negotiate contracts ensuring compliance with global/local standards. Establish long-term agreements with strategic suppliers to secure supply and optimize cost.
  • Cost & Budget Control: Lead annual cost negotiations (YOY reductions, RM fluctuations, productivity improvements). Support VA/VE initiatives and monitor material cost budgets (capital & revenue).
  • Risk & Compliance: Proactively manage supply base risks related to delivery, financial health, and capacity. Ensure adherence to CNH purchasing processes and Delegation of Authority (DoA).
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (Product Development, SQE, Manufacturing, Finance, Global Commodity Leads) and external partners (suppliers, consultants, auditors).
  • Leadership: Manage a high-value portfolio (Annual Purchasing Value: $80M+) and lead a team to deliver strategic objectives.
Experience Required

  • 20+ years in Off-Highway, Automotive, or Industrial sectors.
  • Proven expertise in global sourcing, purchasing, costing, and supplier management in a matrix environment.

Skills:

    • Strategic thinking, negotiation, change management, and financial analysis.
    • Strong knowledge of supplier base, manufacturing processes, and purchasing systems.
