SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for creating, implementing, and supporting the talent learning and development technological systems, infrastructure, framework, and strategies to support the organization. The Nursing Director, under the direction of the V.P. of Nursing/CNO, assumes responsibility for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients in the assigned department(s) on a twenty-four hour basis; plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities, including fiscal, material and human resource management. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures, maintains open communication with all staff and administrative team to promote improvement in performance, assumes responsibility for the role of administrative supervisor as needed, and provides leadership and support to encourage the optimum development and performance of each staff member.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Licensure: Current Arkansas RN or Compact State license in good standing.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience required. Previous charge nurse and/or leadership experience required.
Preferred Education: Master of Science in Nursing

Spend 8 hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat, and twist up to or exceeding 8 to12 hours during shift(s). Occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment. Able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient and equipment. Occasionally lifts patients with assist 125 pounds or more. Spends eight hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases. May have to function around prisoners or mental patients. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
24/7 responsibility for assigned unit, with expected Rotating Senior Administrative call.
