The City of Norfolk's Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a Research Analyst to conduct research in support of enhancing overall efficiencies within the department. This position plans, analyzes, develops, and performs studies and research projects to support short/long-term planning, problem-solving, and management decision-making.

Department Salary Hiring Range: $49,152 - $56,403

Essential Functions

Essential functions include but are not limited to:
  • Collect data and create reports
  • Analyze existing programs and perform benchmark analyses
  • Compile research to recommend policy and program revisions
  • Plan and coordinate process improvements for increased efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage data management systems to ensure data quality
  • Create, update, and maintain dashboards for department leadership
  • Performs related work as required.

Education/Experience

Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience sufficient to perform the essential functions outlined in the classification specification.

Work Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
